Jazz Age Lawn Party

Thank you to Aperol for inviting me to attend the Jazz Age Lawn Party this year!  All thoughts and images are my own.

What is the Jazz Age Lawn Party?

The Jazz Age Lawn Party is a prohibition-era themed event that takes place twice a summer on Governors Island, just a short ferry ride away from Manhattan and Brooklyn.

What do I wear?

If you want to fit in, come in your 1920s best! You’ll see a wide range of outfits, but why not dress up when you get the chance?

How do I get there?

A ferry leaves Manhattan for Governors Island every 30 minutes on the weekend from South Ferry.  It only costs $2, but if you take it before noon, it’s free!  Once you’re on the island, it’s an easy walk to the lawn party itself.

What do I bring?

A picnic blanket! You can bring food as well, or purchase it from the food trucks on site.  You should also bring water, a portable phone charger, and lots and lots of sunscreen. Do NOT bring outside alcohol (they won’t let it in) – you can purchase that once at the lawn party.

Can I bring my family?

Yes!  Children under the age of 12 get in for free.

How do I buy tickets?

The second Jazz Age Lawn Party of the summer is August 25-26 and you can buy tickets here.  Can’t swing the ticket price? Bring a picnic blanket and camp out right next to the lawn party! You won’t be able to see the dance floor, but you’ll hear all the jazz and still be a part of the excitement.
